RASHMI GUPTA

The upcoming bright face of the Indian Television industry – Rashmi Gupta

Hailing from the small town of Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Rashmi Gupta is all of 26 years and has already established a strong foundation in the Indian TV world, but it wasn’t a piece of cake journey for Rashmi. Due to the early demise of her father when she was just about 7 years, Rashmi faced quite a few hardships in life.

Juggling between her own studies, a teaching job, and self-studies, all Rashmi wanted was to get a decent government job in a bank in Lucknow and she successfully got one with her hard work and dedication. Though, destiny had other plans for her. Like many Indian families, her grandmother and paternal aunts loved watching television soap operas. They quite often nudged her to try her luck in the same, given the fact that she is a really beautiful-looking girl.

That’s how she decided to give herself three months to try acting, and next thing she landed in the city of dreams, Mumbai, with a mere Rs 30000, which she’d earned with her own sweat. In her own words, there wasn’t a day when she didn’t go for auditions. 2 months passed by, and she was hardly left with any penny is when she got her first chance into the world of acting. Rashmi appeared in an episode of the famous show CID, and that was enough to give her confidence to march forward without losing hope. She opted for all kinds of gigs, whether advertisements or just small appearance roles.

What she continued was to dream big, and that’s what worked in her favor. Now, a well-known face of the industry, she recently appeared in the serial Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega, a prime-time show on Zee TV where she plays the main antagonist. Her other ventures include Yeh Vada Raha, Gutur Gu, and Vani Rani. Alongside, she has also appeared in movies like Laal Ishq.
