Kapil Gauhri, the man who is giving a new definition to the word ‘Fashion Choreography’
Fashion keeps evolving with each passing day. One day some design is in trend; the next day, it’s thrown out of the windows like old clothes. In between all these navigating drifts, there is one person who constantly keeps up-to-date with the nuisances going around in the fashion field, and that’s called your fashion choreographer.
One such renowned name in the streets of fashion is Kapil Gauhri, the man who juggled tirelessly to make all your notable runways, fashion shows, campaign shoots, look books, online shoots & commercial shoots, a super hit. He’s also cited by many as a prominent stylist and designer.
Born and raised in Dehradun, Kapil paved his way in the swanky universe of fashion after completing an honors diploma in Fashion Designing and Fashion Management from SAFT College Dehradun. And then he surrendered his soul to upkeep his game as an efficacious fashion choreographer. Nothing came easy to Kapil as his core learning was all on the field, where he had to lift his resolute with each passing challenge thrown his way. Through the ongoing process, he encountered with his real love, model training. He absolutely believes that it is this aspect of his job that makes him the best.
Kapil has masterminded projects for Flying Machine, Audi, United Colors of Benetton, Blenders Pride, Times of India, Spykar, Sisley, Bacardi, SIDI (Space Institution of Design and Innovation), INIFD (Inter National Institute of Fashion Design).
Some of the runways he directed include Dehradun and Bangalore Fashion Week, Fashion Expo for Label Ekum, Audi Car Launch, Launch Show for Flying Machine, Ministry of Khadi Show by Times of India, Times of India Show for Label Himadri, Couture Runway Week by Pallavi Singh (For ARCVSH, January 2021), Delhi Runway Week for Designer Abdur Rehman (January 2021), The Tribes India Show by Ministry of Tribal Affairs (Aadi Mahotsav 2021).
Whether it’s perfecting the models’ catwalk, executing the theme, staging, or choreographing, he knows his job is an absolute mammoth. But he is the master who knows how to marry everything on stage with the designer’s cloth collection and vision.
